After the Battle of Malazgirt, Bozkurt district of Kastamonu, which is the settlement area of various Turkish tribes, has a very strong direction both culturally and historically.

Thanks to the migrations made here, villages such as Şenlikpazarı, Elmalı, Şeyhoğlu, Kızılcaelma, Sakızcılar and Keşlik were established. In 922, it was captured by the Byzantine Empire.

The Bozkurt region, which was under the control of the Roman and Byzantine societies for a long time, came under the domination of Kommennos known as one of the founding quarters of the Greek Greek Empire between 1204 and 1212. For this reason, the name of many villages, even today, is pronounced as Greek. It is not a highly developed area, but its historical aspect is very strong.

For this reason, it has been an area attracting tourists every year. As the hotels and restaurants in the area are nostalgic, everyone who visits here is having a nice time. In Kastamonu Bozkurt district, seats are used instead of chairs.
